Scripture Reading: “I will not withhold any good thing from you.”
(Psalm 84:11)
Too often we are asking God for clarity about certain life choices, relationships, finances or careers and the answer is right before our eyes. We ask God to make it clear…and He does, and we ask again, please Father let me know, and He does! But because we desire our will so desperately, we fail to accept God’s truth concerning His will for our lives.
Don’t ignore what God is trying to tell you
One thing I can promise you, if you truly seek His face regarding life choices, He will make His will known unto you (Ephesians 5:17). It is not God’s will to keep you in the dark. In His Word, He reminds us that His people will know the light and not be kept in the dark (John 12:46). But you have to understand, God will not force His will upon you. He gives us a warning before the great fall, it is our choice whether to heed the warning or continue on to the great fall.
Trust Him
Proverbs 3:5-6 puts it best, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” See, when God gives us a red light, it is for our best interest. For this reason, it makes no sense running the “light” because we are bound to get hurt or even injured. Just as in our scripture reading, it reminds us that God will not withhold any good thing from us (Psalm 84:11). So, you don’t have to question a rightful choice for your life. If you are seeking God first, He will give you a peace to move forward or warn you to move in a different direction.
Wait on Him
In His Word, He reminds us if we wait on Him, He will renew our strength (Isaiah 40:31)! We have to remember, God will not give us anything that is half done or not in our best interest. As a matter fact, God says in His Word, if He does it, it will be done forever (Ecclesiastes 3:14)!
From this little lesson early on in life, I decided no matter how it feels or how much it may hurt, I was going to wait on God. The Bible instructs us if we are obedient and willing, we will eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). While this meant walking away from people I really enjoyed being with and making a sacrifice of only moving according to God’s agenda, I know my obedience has and will continue to pay off.
Remember: God is waiting on you!
