Growing up, Christmas was my favorite holiday! Truth be told, not because of Jesus’ birthday but honestly because I loved receiving expensive gifts and my family would always buy me the best gifts! However, as time passed and our family became larger with the addition of children, my family and I decided not to buy gifts for the adults any longer because it just became too expensive and to only purchase gifts for the children. Every since that decision had been made, it’s like God changed our focus because not one time did anyone complain. No one stopped coming around. No one suggested we go back to the way we used to do it because not only does it save us money but I believe more importantly as this quote so eloquently puts it “As you grow older your Christmas list gets shorter because the things you want, you realize can’t be bought…”
TIME is your most precious gift, because you only have a set amount of it. Yes, we all love our clothes, shoes, gadgets and expensive gifts but the most precious gift that anyone can ever give you is their time. I’m so grateful to God because my family and I now know the value in the time that God allows us to spend with each other and we don’t take that for granted. We love to get together and just laugh, talk and enjoy each other’s company, even if it’s just for a few moments. Because when it’s all said and done, you can look back at your checkbook and see what you did with your money but what can look back at and say what you did with your time? Don’t waste your time! Thank God today for any amount of time that you have to spend with your family and friends because although time is free, it is definitely priceless!
