When life comes at you fast, as sometimes it does. You have to understand that God is still in control. He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). While your situation may have caught you by surprise, it did not catch God by surprise!
God states in His Word that even before you were born, He knew you (Jeremiah 1:5). Therefore, He knew each day you would encounter. He also knew each success and failure you may experience.
It Will Work Out
God promises that all things will work together for good for those who love Him and are called to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Therefore, whatever you are experiencing can be used for good! As a New Orleans native, I enjoy a bowl of gumbo. But those who cook gumbo know that while the ingredients may not be so tasty by themselves, cooking them together can turn them into something magical. Simply put, in the end, it all works out good!
Trust God
This is no different in our lives. You may experience a season where you fully don’t understand the path God is taking you. But even in those times, you have to continue to trust God. He tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
Therefore, no matter what it looks like, trust God even when you can’t trace Him.
Don’t Give Up
More importantly, don’t give up. What is God calling you to do? Whether operating a successful business, building a stronger family foundation, committing to your loved ones, or partnering with God, stay committed no matter what. How do you ask?
- Pray consistently daily concerning your problems (Luke 18:1).
- Ask for God’s wisdom concerning what to do (James 1:5)
- Seek Him first before seeking the help of others (Matthew 6:33)
- Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth (John 16:13)
When you take these steps, I promise your test will become a testimony!
Remember, God is waiting for you!
