One of the benefits of having children is being invited to birthday parties at a variety of party places! Recently, we were invited to a party at the bowling alley and my son was so excited! When it was his turn to bowl, he immediately went to grab a ball that was way too heavy for him to carry. But he was determined to carry it on his own and although he struggled to hold on to it, he did what he wanted. He got it to the lane and dropped it! LOL As the ball slowly rolled down the lane, a few pins fell over and he let out a huge scream of excitement! And couldn’t wait to do it again…
While my son was having a moment of excitement, I was having a moment of assessment. How many times have I carried things that were too heavy for me? How many times have I struggled to hold on to those things? How many times have God removed his hands and allowed me to do it my way? How many times have I been excited over little when God had so much more for me? But most amazingly, how many times has God still set up boundaries (bowling bumper guards) to keep me from veering too far off track when I’m doing my will and not seeking His?
The answer to all of my questions is
many times! And still, God has shown me…GRACE! Although I carried things I
shouldn’t, He walked with me! Even when I dropped the ball, He didn’t allow it
to destroy me! And He dispatched His angels to guard me when I disregarded Him.
GRACE. Undeserved.
Unmerited. Unearned. Favor. GRACE upon GRACE. God’s overwhelming desire to
treat us as if we had never sinned. God, oh how we thank you today for your
GRACE!💜🙌🏽
