Live a little longer and you will realize that every now and then something comes along and throws you off course.
It doesn’t matter if you have been attending church faithfully, doing what is right or simply moving in the direction that God has for you. Sometimes you will experience a little rain in your life.
And of course, we may all ask the question that lingers in our mind – “God, why?”
If you are in that place, know that you too can win this battle.
Go deeper in the Word
I’ll be the first to admit, as we go about living this Christian life, we sometimes get familiar with God. Because of this, our prayer times become routine, we sometimes lack the passion we once had or sometimes we just do it because we know that we should.
But this should not be the case.
Just recently for me, I knew it was time to go deep. Not just surface prayer, but it was time for me to go deeper in the Word of God.
Sometimes we may experience trials and tribulations because God desires to get our attention. I can attest that some of the biggest mishaps have turned to be some of the bigger blessings in my life. My book, 21 Days of Powerful Breakthroughs would not be here today, had I not needed to obtain my own personal breakthrough!
Fast, prayer and praise!
This is not only true for me, but for the believers in the Bible as well. It was Haman’s plot to kill the Jews that Esther realized it was time to declare a fast (Esther 4:7-17). It was Jehoshaphat’s battle that he too realized that the battle would only be won through prayer and praise (2 Chronicles 20:15-22).
What about you? What do you do when you face a battle? Are you fasting, praying and praising your way through?
I can fully attest that it is much easier to cry and give up. But we have to stay strong and know that every battle could be won by going deeper into His Word, praising Him in advance for victory and asking Him exactly what it would be that He would have you to do!
