So many people in life are following things, people, money or even their favorite people on Social media platforms but so few are really following God. After neglecting myself to spend much-needed time to God, I decided to take time to pray and ask him what would he have me to do. I simply asked him to lead me where he wanted me to be and I decided to toss my plans I had for my life.
After making this request, he led me to John 21, which outlines the blessings you receive when you simply decide to follow him.
Ask God where to go
Often times in life we neglect to ask God to lead us where we need to be. Because of this we deviate from the path he has designed for us to be on and find ourselves out of his will. In verse 6 of this chapter, Jesus says to his disciples to cast your net to the right hand side of the ship and you shall find.
These disciples had been fishing all night but still came up empty, it wasn’t until God specifically instructed them where to go did they find a blessing more than they could imagine. Have you been seeking but simply coming up empty? Stop trying to do it on your own. Ask God which direction you should take. In his path there is peace, hope and blessings.
He has already ordered your steps
If you get in line with what God has for you, he has already put the right people, things, and resources in your pathway. Think of it this way, God has already made a provision for your vision! In verse 9, it tells us as soon as the disciples returned there were coals of fire, fish and bread awaiting for them. This lets us know every step of the way in his will have been planned for your good. But the key is you have to trust him. Do you dare trust him today? Know he will not withhold any good thing from you.
Do His will!
Many times in life we are so consumed with our own concerns that we neglect to do the work of God. We must remember our purpose here on earth is to further the kingdom of God. Many may believe if we are not in a pulpit, we don’t have what it takes to reach the world. But the truth of the matter since we are in the world, we are able to reach those the church will never be able to reach. In verse 15, God instructs his disciples to feed his sheep. So no matter if you are a singer, business professional, attorney, athlete or writer you have to spread the word of God to others.
And lastly you have to follow God where he calls you to go (verse 19), in his path there is purpose and peace.
