Here is a great way to pray –
The PRAYER CODE
P – Praise God (Psalm 18:1-3)
You should start your prayers with worship and praise. Thank God for all the great things He has done!
R- Repent (Psalm 51:10)
Ask God to create a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you. Request that God reveals your eyes and search your heart so that you will understand what displeases Him.
A – Ask (John 14:13-14)
Ask God for your petitions. Let God know your specific requests. Remember to ask in His Son’s name. He tells us in His Word that He is the way, truth, and the light, no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Y – Yield (Psalm 23:1)
Let God lead you. While we may want our own desires, God always has the best plan for us. We often can see up the road but God can see beyond the road. Because He is God who knows all and is all-powerful. We should surrender our wills to His. Let Him be your Shepherd and lead you where He wants you to be.
E-Enemies (Deuteronomy 28:7)
Ask God to allow your enemies to leave out seven ways! But, pray for your enemies. Ask God to bless them as well. Ask God to remove any unforgiveness in your heart toward them. Forgiving your enemies and blessing them allows God to freely bless you.
R- Readiness (Matthew 25:1-13)
Most often, we ask God for certain things but do not position ourselves to prepare for these things. We have to be prepared for what we are asking for. This may mean praying and fasting more, studying the Word of God, seeking wisdom and preparing ourselves physically and spiritually for the journey that lies ahead.
C- Character (Romans 12:2)
Ask God to change your character to be more like Him. Be quick to hear and slow to speak (James 1:5). Take time before making decisions and do not be anxious for anything (Philippians 4:6-7). Pray over habits that do not align with God’s Word and ask God to give you the grace to no longer desire to do those things.
O – Others (Job 42:10)
Pray for others who may need help from God. The Bible shows us that when Job prayed for his friends, he was blessed. We are here today because of the prayers of others. We too need to lift others up in prayers.
D- Decisions (1 Kings 3:4-14)
List the decisions that you need to make now. Ask God for wisdom so that you can make the right decisions. Solomon asked God for wisdom to be able to discern between good and bad. God answered his request.
E- Everything else
Here is a time for you to pray for everything else that’s going on in your life.
