As I write this piece, I am enjoying a beautiful day in NOLA.
If you know me, you know that I truly love the outdoors, tea and peace!
Hey, who doesn’t, right?
But more importantly, I am sitting on a new porch set that my dad decided to give me.
When he gave me the receipt and said I have a gift waiting for you at Lowes, I was thinking what every woman would be thinking, “You have the wrong store!”
But then there it was.
It made it to my home.
I first gave it the side eye, because I was thinking do I really need this? Certainly a new dress was in order!
But as I enjoy this beautiful summer, I find myself sitting out here more and more. The quiet winds that give me the feeling that God is sitting right here next to me. The joy of relaxing and writing in a quiet place that my soul actually yearn for would be satisfied by a surprising gift that I didn’t really know I needed it.
This reminds me of God.
Many times we go about our journeys and not take the time out to see what our Godly father wants us to have. We are so busy fulfilling our goals and dreams, but have you ever stopped and wondered…
Maybe the thing that we really need is the thing we have yet to ask?
Maybe the blessing that would truly be a blessing, we have yet to even imagine?
Maybe the route we need to take has yet to be even placed in our spirit?
And guess what? Only God knows exactly what is best for us! If we don’t ask God where we truly need to go, there will be many unfulfilled blessings that will NEVER manifest here on Earth.
So how do you get what God really has for you?
You simply have to stop and pray and more importantly pray what I like to call my courageous prayer…
God these are my desires, but if they do not align with Your will, please close the doors. It is my desire to want what You know I need. It is also my desire to want what You want me to have. Not my will, but Yours.
Remember: God is waiting on you!
