Scripture Reading: “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV)
A few years ago, I started what I call my “Steps to Victory” walk. I would use my time of exercise and walk quietly along the lake to hear from God. The time spent was and still is amazing. During this time, I ask the Holy Spirit to reveal things I do not know and what God desired me to do.
Communicate with the Holy Spirit
If you have never communicated with the Holy Spirit, you are really missing out. The Holy Spirit has been given us the authority by God to tell us what to say and what to do (John 16:13). He continues to guide us in all truth, so we can discern from “okay” choices to the best choice God has for us.
He is here for you to understand
The Holy Spirit resides in each and every one of us, and He is our Comforter (John 14:26). He has been sent in God’s name and the Word tells us He will teach us all things (John 14:26). God can reveal to us the truth about ourselves and others in the Spirit (2 Corinthians 2:10).
Ask the Holy Spirit to help
In the Word, it tells us the power of the Holy Spirit. If we walk in the spirit and not in flesh, God will reveal to us the unknown. Isaiah 30:21 sums it up best, it states that we will hear whether to go right or left. This is comforting to know if we stay connected to the Holy Spirit, He will lead us into the truth and help us each and every day.
The Holy Spirit is powerful
I can recall visiting a church and the pastor asked that we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our prayers. I began to silently ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to me about the person next to me for whom I was praying. Shortly after my prayer, I began to tell her words God had given me. He instructed me to tell her, “Not to worry, but her three children will be saved.” This was powerful! I had never met the woman before but the Holy Spirit through God revealed to me she had three children and more importantly, that they would be saved!
Since that moment, I began to learn more about the power of the Holy Spirit.
Remember, we don’t have to fight life’s decisions alone. Throughout life we can obtain comfort knowing we have someone who is here to guide us forever. He promises to be our comforter and to always be with us.
God is waiting on you!
