It is amazing the many prayers my mom would give to so many people and they would always have a testimony to share. I would speak with a friend and they would quickly exclaim, “Girl guess what, your mom told me to say this prayer or do this and it worked!” I was finally like, wait a minute, if my mom could be a blessing to so many others certainly I need to pay attention to this special gem right underneath my nose!
It’s funny you take for granted the people around you. While I knew my mom was truly a blessing in my life, I guess when she would tell me do something it would go in one ear and come out the other. But one day I got an “aha” moment and begin to realize that I had to capture these miracles to share with all!
Growing up in a single family home, I witnessed first hand my mom’s commitment to God. She would pray before dawn and continuous throughout the day. When her car wouldn’t start, she would pray, when she had to make ends meet she would pray and more importantly when we seemed to be getting on her last nerve she would pray!
Because of her prayer life, she made it a habit that we would pray as well. We would recite Psalm 23, which my brother still prays today, three times daily on our trip to school. I knew it paid off because my siblings are blessed because of the prayer seeds sown such early on.
Miracle #1-Call on the Holy Spirit
Scripture Reading: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26 KJV)
Throughout school and more importantly before taking any exam, my mom gave us a special prayer to recite to ensure our success.
For my siblings and I we used this prayer before sitting for our professional exams. This prayer has worked wonders. It is based on the above scripture reading. This scripture tells us that we can count on the Holy Spirit to bring to our remembrance things we know and even better things we don’t know.
Prayer:Lord in Jesus Christ name of Nazareth let the Holy Spirit bring to my Remembrance things I know and don’t know on this test and my assignments. In Jesus Christ n name of Nazareth. Amen.
Miracle #2 You can be healed
Scripture Reading: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 KJV)
Countless times my mother has shared her healing miracles with me. She has told me how friends were healed from various illnesses and diseases simply by standing on the Word of God.
She stands on the Word of God. In Isaiah 53:5, it tells us by Jesus stripes we are healed.
If you are seeking a healing from God, stand on this scripture. In addition, write it on a bandaid and place it wherever you need a healing. If you are in need of a whole body healing, place it on your chest. Wear it for seven days, believing and declaring your body is being healed.
Miracle #3 Keeping the door open
Scripture Reading: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19 KJV).
One day my mom shared a story with me concerning ministering to a young man. The story had such a profound impact, I had to share with others as well. She told me she had a conversation with a young man, who was at a point in his life of deciding whether to turn his back on his wife or stay committed.
She knew much about him, and knew how God was blessing him in many areas of his life. She stood next to a door and opened it wide. She told him, if he continue on the path God had given him, meaning staying committed to his family, God would bless him, but if he was disobedient, God would close the door! And she immediately slammed the door closed and he jumped! She told him, God would close the door to his blessings and there would be no prayer, no one that would be able to open that door again!
Scared, but truly informed he decided to stay committed to his family. Today, God has blessed him tremendously. See what you have to understand, God gives us certain responsibilities, in particular our family, we have to take care our family with care. Failure to take care of our spouses, children, and family members would put us in a position of knocking where no one is able to answer.
I pray and hope these words of wisdom has been special to you, as my mom’s wisdom has been with me!!
Remember: God is waiting on you!
