Nothing is more amazing than the woman with the spirit of infirmity found in Luke 13. While the Bible does not mention what her infirmity is, I believe it was omitted so we could relate to her as we may deal with our own spirit of heaviness. It tells us she dealt with this infirmity for 18 long years. Because of it she could not hold herself up but simply walked about with a bow.
She realized she needed Him
It tells us in no way could she hold herself up. The spirit was so heavy but she knew if only Christ would see her, she could be healed. So she positioned herself so Jesus would see her and she could obtain help. Take note! This is key. She made certain Jesus would be able to see her.
What about you? What are you dealing with today? Are you willing to put yourself in a position to bring your heaviness before the Master? Or are you carrying your burdens alone? Know that once we put ourselves in His hand (taking our rightful place) God can do amazing things in our lives!
He can do it immediately
When Christ saw her – He immediately said “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” And immediately, she was able to walk straight. Remember, the God we serve, He can do it in the “blink of an eye.” So no matter what your heavy burden is, take the right position today, and know that you will win and be loosed from your spirit of infirmity.
