Have you ever been wronged by someone? No, not the old lady who skipped you in line or the company who overcharged you for their services. I’m talking about people close to you like your best friend, your spouse, your parents or your children.
We’ve all been hurt at one time or another. We’ve all been wronged. The question is, however, not when were we wronged but how do we handle situations when we are wronged? Natural human reaction can be revenge, bitterness, anger or isolation but Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:14 to FORGIVE THEM. “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
So, what if they don’t apologize for what they’ve done – FORGIVE THEM! What if they don’t think that what they did hurt me – FORGIVE THEM! But what if they’ve done this to me before – FORGIVE THEM! For forgiveness is not for them, forgiveness is for you! It does not condone what they did but it allows you to move on because once you forgive, you can let go and truly live!
