This weekend I will have the exciting privilege to share God’s Word with an audience of hundreds of people! I am super excited! I have so many reasons to be filled with absolute joy but instead I find myself fighting off the spirit of fear. To be completely honest, I have every reason to fear. This is huge! Hundreds of people…something that I’ve never done before… Looking at me… BUT I know that the spirit of fear does not come from God. It is the devil who wants me to be afraid.
And the only way to fight a spiritual battle is with a spiritual weapon and 2 Timothy 1:7 is my defense! For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
God is calling all of us to do great things for Him but the enemy wants us to be so overwhelmed that we cannot accomplish any of those things! But we have to remind ourselves that God gives us many things but He does not give fear! If God is for us, no one can be against us. I refuse to worry about what “may” happen this weekend and will focus on what WILL happen. I WILL have the mind of Christ! I WILL stand boldly before God’s people and share His word! I WILL not be afraid because God WILL be standing with me! So, the next time the enemy hits you with fear, hit him back with your FAITH and watch him flee!
