In life, there are bound to be some ups and downs. I was once told, “When problems bring you down, you have to get back up because it is hard to fight on your back.” To be successful and continue on your journey, you must master disappointments in your life.
Whether it is a loved one has been called home or financial distress, there are sure to be moments in life where you ask God, “Why?” You may question, “Why did this happen to me? I read the book, and I prayed the prayers. Why me, Lord?”
Being Used for God
God could be using us to help someone else. There are many disappointments in my life that have turned out to be blessings for others. Because of these experiences, I am now in a position to help others who may be experiencing the same issues, and more importantly, I can see them to victory. In His Word, He says His grace is sufficient for thee (2 Corinthians 12:9). Know no matter what you are going through, know that God promises to see you through – gracefully.
Problems are Temporary
I want to let you know you can rejoice because problems are only temporary. The Word reminds us that affliction is just for a moment (2 Corinthians 4:17). Also, the Bible tells us joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5)! No matter what you are going through, you have to remain steadfast, trusting, and believing God’s Word is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Also, He promises He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5)!!
Remember, it is a test of our faith. Anyone can believe when their health is excellent, their children are on the honor roll, or their marriage is going well. But true believers continue to believe when they received the bad news from the doctor, the spouse wants to call it quits, or they lost a loved one. They know that this is only a test, and to obtain real victory, they must continue to stand for God, and in turn, God promises to stand up for them.
Trust His strategy not your own
We all have our plans; we all know where we want to be this time next year, and if it is God’s will, you will undoubtedly be there. However, if it is not, He will lead you another way (a better way even). No, sometimes we don’t understand it, but the Bible reminds us to not lean to our understanding, but His (Proverbs 3:5). You must understand, life is like a long road, and your eyes can only see so far ahead, but isn’t it good to know God can see down the road!
So when life takes you for an unexpected turn or things don’t quite work out the way you envisioned, stand still and know God still cares for you. Lift your hands and continue to pray because one day, you will be able to say, “God, I thank you for seeing me through this.”
Today, God wants to know, do you still believe?
Do you still trust him? Are you bold enough to believe there is life at the end of the road? Just as God did it for Job, He is sure to do it for you. He promises those that trust in Him will not be ashamed. Keep believing and trusting in Him; He knows what’s best for you.
