Be still, and KNOW that I am God. Psalm 46:10 NIV
One of the most difficult things for a child to do is “be still.” No matter how hard they try, no matter how much their parents try to bribe them with treats, everything in them is telling them to move. Whether it’s touching things wit their hands, swinging their legs or taking up a storm, their little bodies are always in motion. Similarly, being still can also be challenging for us as adults. With everything that’s going on around us, with what we see and hear in the news we find it hard to just relax. Because the idea of being still and doing nothing goes against what we naturally and culturally do. We worry about our future. We have a long list of things to do. We find ourselves always busy. But if we are always busy being busy, how can we KNOW Him?
Today, no matter what you read, see or hear…take time out of your busy day to get to KNOW Him. KNOW that He is God. KNOW that He is still in control. KNOw that He works all things together for our good. KNOW that HE is our refuge. KNOW that He is our strength. KNOW HE will never leave us or forsake us and KNOW that if God is for us, who can be against us?
No God, No peace…KNOW God, KNOW PEACE!
