I’ll be honest and tell you that I didn’t have anything to write about today. Normally, God tells me what He wants me to share with you. Many times He’ll just put things on my heart in the morning or sometimes even the night before but today He chose to be silent. He knows that I’m listening…but not one word…
I needed something so I became desperate. I drove to work with my radio turned completely off and the air on the lowest setting, listening closely so I wouldn’t miss the sound of His voice. I literally looked at everything I could as I was driving to work, trying to see a message through someone else and still silence. I wasn’t giving up though. I made it to work, sat at my desk, asked Him to say something to me and read my devotion. It was then, through His word, He spoke to me! Simply it was Luke 11:9 that says ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. The devotion went on to say longing makes us ask, emptiness makes us seek, silence makes us knock. WOW!! Because He was silent, I became desperate and I sought Him more! Because he was silent and I became desperate, I searched for Him more! Because He was silent and I became desperate, I focused my mind on Him more! If God is silent with you today, know that it’s not because he just wants to aggravate you but He wants you to be desperate for Him more! If He always easily gives us everything we expect Him to, then there is no effort on our part to seek Him with our whole heart and ultimately, we lose our desperation for Him! Desperation produces desire and desire produces devotion and devotion gets you to your destiny! Be desperate for Him!
