Don’t Let the Enemy Fool You!
I’ve never really been a fan of April Fools’ Day. I’ve had a lot of jokes pulled on me in grade school and I never liked being called a fool, much less being made to look like a fool. As a result, April 1st is a day where I have mentally trained myself to be on high alert to sense when someone is trying to fool me. I will not be fooled on April 1st.
But what happens when the enemy tries to fool me and it’s not April 1st? What if it’s May 22nd or July 15th? How alert will I be?
We must never forget that the enemy is sneaky and it is in those times when we are not on alert that he tries to steal, kill and destroy us. He fools us when we are not paying attention! When we have taken our armor off, when we have slacked in reading our word, when we have stopped coming to church, that’s when he fools us! 1 Peter 5:8 reminds us to be sober, be vigilant because the enemy walks about, as a roaring lion, seeking who he can devour! Let’s be on high alert EVERYDAY so the next time the enemy tries to fool us we can make him look like the fool!
