Many times in life we encounter many “traffic stops” in the road. But we must understand, these are only temporary stops to keep us distracted from the place where God has already prepared for us. We must stay focused on God’s promises and continue to travel to the place He has called us to be.
Red Lights
During your travel, there will be many red lights. The devil is aware of what God has in stored for you. So for this very reason, he wants to make a stop that should have only lasted temporary to last a lifetime. In the Bible, it discusses Moses and his people attempting to obtain the promise land. A trip that should have taken a short time, took forty years because they focused on their obstacles and failed to focus on what God had already promised He would do.
Ask yourself today, “Is there anything you are doing that is prohibiting the promises of God to come forth in your life?”
Yellow Lights
There will also be times when you are not sure if you should go away or if you should stay on a certain journey. Or there are moments when your blessing is deferred for another time. During these times, it is essential to seek God first no matter what.
Many times in life, we often take our problems to FaceBook, a good friend or family member for advice. But in God’s Word, He makes it clear to seek Him first! Know that God is good to those who wait for Him and to the soul that seek Him (Lamentations 3:25). Seeking Him first in all you do will allow you to know the truth (John 8:32) about any situation you encounter. It also gives you the power to understand which road you should take!
Green Lights
Most often, the only obstacle that is preventing you from your victory is yourself. We build up negative thoughts in our minds, often thinking “I can’t do this,” or “I don’t have this or that.” But do you know there is only one person you need to accomplish anything? And that person is God!
We must understand God will never place a vision in our heart without giving us the power to carry it out! You have to simply stand on His Word.
Continue to declare:
- If God is for us who can be against us (Romans 8:31).
- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).
- In all things (not some) we are more than a conquerors (Romans 8:37).
And more importantly, one of my favorite quotes, “If you take one step, God will take the rest.” God is waiting on you today. Start thinking positive thoughts when the attack of the enemy comes against your mind. Know that God is ready, able and more than capable to help you no matter what you going through.
So what is stopping you from continuing your journey? Recognize the “stop lights” in your life and ask God to help you reach your destiny!
Remember, God is waiting on you!
