Scripture Reading: “And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
(Romans 12:2 KJV)
You have to know God wants great things for your life. For this reason, in His Word it states that Jesus Christ comes so that we can live a full and abundant life here on earth (John 10:10). But so often, we failed to believe that God truly wants us to be victorious in all that we do.
Start thinking His way
When you have believed the “ills” of the world for so long and allowed the devil to partner with your thoughts, it is hard to believe God wants the best for you. But if you want to walk in “newness,” you have to get rid of negative thoughts that are contrary to the Word of God.
More importantly, as you get rid of your old ways of thinking, you have to renew your mind and spirit with the promises of God. Simply put,you have to renew your mind to think as God would have you to think.
In the Word it tells us that we have the mind of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). This means that we should think the way He thinks. Therefore, we should study our Word and get a full understanding of what He has to say about us.
His Word tells us:
- I can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13).
- If God be for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31).
- I am made in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:27).
- My mind is renewed through Him (Romans 12:2).
- I am strong in the Lord, through His power and might (Ephesians 6:10).
- I am living a full and abundant life here on Earth (John 10:10).
- I take no thought for tomorrow, God is supplying all my needs (Matthew 6:25-34).
Pray with belief
Many times when we pray, we sometimes do not realize whom we are praying to. We are praying to the great and almighty One and for this reason, we need to understand there is nothing too hard for our God (Jeremiah 32:27)! He tells us in the Word that even before we pray, God hears us (Isaiah 65:24). Therefore, when we begin to pray, we have to truly believe and have faith that God will not only hear but answer our prayers.
If you struggle with believing, I challenge you to stand on the Word of God. Begin to build your faith by seeking passages in the Bible where God has acted on the behalf of those who were in impossible situations. A few passages are listed below. I encourage you to study these stories to build your faith. Know that nothing is impossible with God!
- Raised Lazarus fromthe dead (John 11)
- Healed the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48)
- Gave Abraham a son as promised in his old age (Genesis 17:17)
We have to remember, no matter how big a situation is, in God’s eyes it is considered small. For this reason, we have to not only believe but have faith that He can turn any situation around. I am a witness, He has done so time after time in my life. Remember, without faith, it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).
Remember, God is waiting on you!
