Scripture Reading: “He that dwell in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
(Psalm 91: 1)
Have you ever wanted peace so badly that you did not really understand how to obtain it? You prayed, fasted, and sought after God, but the peace of God that passed all understanding simply seemed to miss your dwelling? If you have been in a place where it simply seems impossible to obtain His peace, know you can have His peace today.
Secret pavilion
In our scripture reading it tells us that if we remain in the secret place of the most High, we shall remain under His shadow. This let’s us know we don’t have to move ahead of God. In His secret place, He has given us life, peace, joy and direction, but the key is remaining under His shadow. Therefore, while the world may entice you to move forward with your own plans and agenda, God reminds us to be still and move at His pace. It is here where you will be able to obtain all that God has for you.
Abide in Him
The word “abide” means to stand. We have to remember to stand on His Word and stand in His love. In John 14:4-10, it reminds us that if we continue to abide in Him, He will abide in us. He also tells us that as we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit, however if we choose not to abide in Him, we will be withered and casted away (v.5-6). More importantly, as we abide in His secret hiding place, whatever we ask, it shall be done, as long as we continue to keep His commandments and remain in His love (v.7, 10).
Daily Prayer:Heavenly Father, we come to You today worshipping You in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). Father God, we thank You that we can rest assure, everything that we need is coming in the secret place. As we abide in your word and You abide in us, we have no need to worry or fear, for You have already gone before us and conquered every trial that comes our way. We no longer have to move ahead of You, knowing there is a safe place when we simply remain in your will and abide in your shadow. So we ask today that we do not move ahead of You or fall behind You, but allow You through the power of the Holy Spirit to move us in the direction You have called us to be. We thank You for this in Jesus Christ Name of Nazareth. Amen.
