Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

You never have to worry about which path to take when you’re walking with God. Psalm 119:105 reminds us that His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. This is a powerful promise we can stand on—God’s Word will always guide us.
If you feel like you’re walking in darkness, ask God to shine His light and illuminate the way. His Word assures us that He goes before us and makes the crooked places straight. When we acknowledge Him, He will direct our paths. Even more, He has given us the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of truth—to lead and guide us in the direction He has ordained.
Often, when God is redirecting our steps, He allows us to feel discomfort. This unrest is typically a sign that it’s time to seek Him for what’s next. Scripture tells us that everything happens in seasons, and there is a time for every purpose under heaven.
The worst thing you can do is remain in a season that God has already closed. That’s why Jeremiah 33:3 encourages us to call on Him, and He will answer us and show us great and mighty things we do not know. Ask Him to reveal clearly whether a season has ended and when it’s time to shift into the new.
The only way to know for sure is to spend quiet time listening for His still, small voice. He promises to lead you—you simply have to trust in His plan and purpose for your life.
Prayer Starter:
Father God,
I need Your direction. Please open the doors You have prepared for me, and close every door that no longer serves Your purpose in my life. If there’s anything—or anyone—that no longer belongs in this season, release me in the name of Jesus. Take away my desire to remain where You’ve already moved on.
Give me peace to let go and the courage to move forward. I long to stay in Your will and walk in the plans and purposes You’ve created for me. Lead me by Your Spirit, and make my path clear.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
