God has been challenging me to praise Him for petitions I have prayed to Him for quite some time. He instructed me to no longer pray for these petitions as if it hasn’t happened yet, but start to praise God as if it has already been done!
For a stronger confirmation, I opened my Bible to Acts 14:25-26. I knew God was once again speaking to me. This passage states, “And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”
Praising through adversities
This passage speaks of Paul and Silas, who were placed into jail for merely performing the great works of God. The act of being put in prison represents the trials and tribulations; we also face in our lives. But the key to this passage is powerful. Although they were in confinement, Paul and Silas did not once look at their current situation, but they began to praise God Almighty with great power! It was these powerful praises that created a breakthrough in their circumstances!
Suddenly
And Suddenly!
The word suddenly is defined as something happening quickly. If you want to see God make a significant change in your life, you must turn your attention away from your circumstances and start to worship God!! The Bible tells us that when Silas and Paul began to pray, there was a great earthquake! The prison began to shake, and all of the doors were opened! When they started to praise God, He began to move on their behalf!
Praises equal results
Know that praise equals results. Remember, turn your face away from your problems and place your focus on God. And suddenly, you will see your mountains leveled, and your crooked places made straight (Isaiah 45:2)!
