We so often read our Bibles and read familiar passages that remind us that with God all things are possible. We are reminded of this when Lazarus was raised from the dead (John 11:44), the woman who suffered the issue of blood for twelve years (Mark 5:34) and was healed, and of course when Peter walked on water (Matthew 14:29). As we read this, we become encouraged knowing that God is such an awesome God that He can do anything!
Don’t bury your dreams in the grave
However, when we encounter trials and tribulations or an opportunity seems to die, we take our eyes off God and think there is nothing that can be done. Because of this our dreams, hopes and even our prayer life land in the grave. We immediately forget all that we know, and put our attention on the things of the world. It is in these times we have to remember who God is.
God is our helper (Psalm 71:20).
God is our provider (Psalm 132:15).
God is our shepherd (Psalm 23:1).
No matter what, let it not grieve you
When we concentrate on disappointments our hope turns into grief. Remember, this is exactly what the devil wants. The devil knows if he can take your eyes away from God, you will no longer believe, hope or expect God to do what He says He will do. It is in these times you have to pray longer, harder, and believe like no other. God is looking at our faith (Mark 11:23). He wants to know whether we believe He is all capable and able to do what He has already promised us.
You will have the glory
You need to know in the end you will win! But the key is to keep praying. Sometime ago, God revealed to me my prayer life is similar to an automobile. Just as an automobile needs gas to move forward, your petitions need prayer to come to pass. The more prayers, the further your petitions will go, however the less prayers, the more it will remain stagnant. We often find ourselves, simply giving up or deciding not to pray anymore. But God tells us His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11)! Do you know how powerful that is? Whatever God has given us in His Word; it shall and will come to pass! God says nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:17)!
Remember: God is waiting on you!
