Sometimes in life, we face Goliath-sized problems, situations that seem impossible to overcome. David, when faced with Goliath, didn’t pick up new weapons; he used what he had proven, which were his stones, his faith, and his trust in God.
You, too, have spiritual stones, weapons of warfare that are mighty through God to pull down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). After prayer and fasting, the Lord may remind you, “Use your stones.”
These are not ordinary stones, they are divine tools given to you through Christ Jesus, who Himself is the Chief Cornerstone. Ephesians 2:20 reminds says “Having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.”
When Jesus is your foundation, every stone you throw, every prayer, every word, every act of faith, carries divine power. Here’s a listing of stones you can use to defeat the Goliaths in your life!
Stone 1 – The Blood of Jesus Christ
The blood of Jesus is the believer’s first weapon of victory. It covers, redeems, and purifies. When you apply the blood to your situation, you invoke divine cleansing and power.
Revelation 12:11 (NKJV)
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
Stone 2 – The Cross of Christ
Once it’s covered by the blood, it can be nailed to the cross. Every accusation, guilt, and curse has been canceled by the finished work of Jesus.
Colossians 2:14 (NKJV)
“Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”
Stone 3 – The Armor of God
God provides daily armor for every believer. You are not defenseless, you are equipped for victory!
Ephesians 6:13–18 (NKJV)
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Stone 4 – Your Thought Life
Your thoughts shape your reality. Scripture teaches that transformation begins in the mind.
Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Stone 5 – Praise and Worship
Praise and worship invite God’s presence and power into your circumstances.
Psalm 18:3 (NKJV)
“I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
Stone 6 – The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is your divine counselor, comforter, and guide. He reveals truth, convicts hearts, and gives strategy for victory.
John 16:13 (NKJV)
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
Stone 7 – Dwelling in the Secret Place
The secret place is your refuge. It is where you find rest, revelation, and divine protection.
Psalm 91:1–2 (NKJV)
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’”
Stone 8 – Declaration and Decree
Your words have creative power. Speaking the Word of God establishes His will over your life.
Job 22:28 (NKJV) “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.”
Stone 9 – Giving to the Poor
Generosity opens the door for blessing and divine favor.
Psalm 41:1–2 (NKJV)
“Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth.”
Stone 10 – The Word of God
The Word is your compass and sword. It brings correction, direction, and power.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NKJV)
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
Stone 11 – The Spirit of Tongues
Speaking in tongues is a spiritual language that connects you directly to God. It edifies and strengthens your spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:2 (NKJV)
“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”
Every believer has spiritual stones, divine weapons forged through the Word, prayer, faith, and obedience. David’s stones may have been simple, but they were effective because he used what he knew, and he trusted the God who empowered them.
Let Jesus Christ be your Chief Cornerstone. Build every part of your life upon Him, your home, your business, your ministry, your relationships. When Christ is your foundation, you will stand firm through every trial and overcome every Goliath that stands before you.
Whatever problem you are facing today, throw a stone at it and you will have victory!
