Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today worshipping You in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). God, for You are the Lord our God who art in heaven and rules over all kingdoms of the heathen. In Your hand is all power and might. Nothing can withstand thee (2 Chronicles 20:6). You are an excellent and mighty God! Father God, for I am nothing without You. Neither do I know what to do, but I know if I keep my eyes upon thee, there is victory in all things (2 Chronicles 20:12).
Prayer for a Husband |
Prayer for a Wife |
God, I petition You on this day and seek Your face. I ask that You forgive me for any sins hindering my prayers. I pray, Father God, You would bless me with a Godly husband who is genuinely after Your own heart and capable and willing to be the head of my household (1 Corinthians 7:3). I pray for a husband who dwells knowledge and who will honor me and is an heir of faith. (1 Peter 3:7) I pray for a husband who loves his wife just as he loves himself (Ephesians 5:28).

God, I petition You on this day and seek Your face. I ask that You forgive me for any sins hindering my prayers. I pray, Father God You would bless me with a Godly wife who has a meek and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:4). I pray for a wife who is willing and capable of subjecting herself to her husband (Ephesians 5:24). I pray for a wife I can trust (Proverbs 31:21), who opens her mouth with wisdom and kindness (Proverbs 31:23) and has respect for her husband (Ephesians 5:33).

God, now I praise You! I declare You are my God who hears and answers prayers! God, You say in Your Word, before we call upon You, You will listen to us (Isaiah 65:24). I ask that You remove any fear or doubt that You can do this. For this reason, Father, I put it in Your hands. I ask the Holy Spirit to lead my spouse to me or me to my spouse according to Your will. Please help me to know who they are without a shadow of a doubt. I ask that You continue to prepare me to be the wife (husband) You called me to be.
Reflection: Whatever you are hoping and expecting, it is essential to be prepared for it. How can you say I will be married one day, but you don’t put yourself in a position to receive it? God is telling us in His Word to not only expect it but place ourselves in a position to receive it. Take time to list ways you can prepare yourself for your spouse.
Moreover, whatever you seek, ensure it aligns with God’s will for your life. Lastly, ask God to help you to heal from past failures and hurt from past relationships. Pray God removes anything from past relationships that may hinder your ability to love and live fearlessly and freely. Remember, God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)!
